Medical Practices are Subject to the New Corporate Transparency Act

Did you know that your California medical practice is a corporate entity? It is, and there is new federal legislation called the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) that went into effect January 1, 2024, which will impact your practice. The CTA requires compliance by December 31, 2024, which is only four months away, and failure to do so will result in the imposition of unnecessary penalties. Physicians React to Congress' Plan to Cut Medicare Payments by 2.5% in 2023

Medicare physicians will face a 2.5% payment cut in 2023, under the year-end omnibus legislation unveiled this week by Congress. A vote is expected by Friday to avoid a government shutdown.

It's Finally Over! The Medicare SGR is Dead!

Last night the Senate approved H.R. 2: The Medicare SGR Reform and the Children’s Health Insurance Reauthorization Act which repeals Medicare’s sustainable growth rate formula, hours before double-digit payment cuts to physicians were set to take effect. The bill has been sent to the White House where President Obama is expected to sign it into law.

House Landslide Vote to Pass SGR

Today, RCMA/CMA congratulates the U.S. House of Representatives for passing monumental Medicare reform and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) extension, and urgently asks their colleagues in the Senate to do the same before spring recess. The 392-37 vote clearly shows that now is the time to make Medicare reform a reality.
