A Message from RCMA's President Michael Nduati, M.D. December 9, 2022 RCMA/CMA President, RCMA 0 An Honor to Serve by Michael N. Nduati, M.D., MBA, MPH 2022 RCMA President It has been a tremendous honor to serve as your 2022 Riverside County Medical Association (RCMA) President. I thank you for your continued support of RCMA and the California Medical Association (CMA). Your membership is critical in shaping the future of medicine and the success of our collective efforts is only possible through the support and participation of members like you. Our unified voice recently led the fight to modernize the Medical Injury Compensation Reform Act (MICRA). With the signing of Assembly Bill 35 by Governor Newsom, we were able to end a decades-long political battle and produce a long-term solution that will provide predictable and affordable medical liability insurance rates for decades to come. We now can proactively focus on important issues affecting medicine, such as increase Medi-Cal reimbursement rates to Medicare levels, streamlining the authorization process and bringing uniformity to health plan quality measures and reporting. These are a few examples of the myriads of issues RCMA and CMA are working on to improve the practice of medicine in Riverside County. As RCMA concludes its 129th year as the voice of physicians in Riverside County, we thank you for your continued membership and strongly encourage you to renew for 2023. With your support, RCMA will continue to serve our physicians and promote quality medical care for the people of Riverside County. We also challenge you to take advantage of the RCMA/CMA membership benefits by: Attending our free general association dinners, education events, and physician socials Empowering your practice and staff by accessing free practice management support through RCMA’s Practice Support Liaison, Sandy Lozeau SLozeau@rcmadocs.org Joining one of RCMA’s 2023 Pathways to Healthcare Transformation Cohorts www.rcmadocs.org/pathways (Three unique educational programs available!)
